Peach

According to legend, Alexander the Great brought peaches from Persia to Greece in the 4th century BC, upon which the Greeks promptly named the fruit “Prunus persica” (Persian fruit).

In actual fact, however, peaches originate from China, and were exported from there to Persia, finally making their way to Central Europe with the help of the Romans. Nowadays, peaches are mainly grown in North America, but can also be found in wine-growing areas in Central Europe. Sun and warmth are what peaches need most in order to ripen and develop the full flavours they will need for YO peach fruit syrup.
